So why pimp WordPress? Oh come on! WordPress when you first get it, is a bare core. While one of the best cores I’ve seen in my whole life, You basically got nothing if you don’t pimp it out! First order of buisness, run though the WordPress core settings and change to suit. I recommend changing the slogan to something that reflects your site.
Second order: Sick out the core with these super insane and cool plugins!
MOBILEPRESS
MobilePress is a WordPress plugin that will render your WordPress blog on mobile handsets, with the ability to use customized themes. The plugin also allows specific themes for specific devices / mobile browsers, such as iPhone, Opera Mini, Windows CE Mobile and other generic handset browsers.
My Say – MobilePress is a cool feature and function. In this day and age, mobiles are everywhere, and getting your site on those mobiles are a big plus. People love to take their favourite sites on the go, don’t you? And don’t say no cause you love to take your faves on the go.
For those of you who loved this site enough to view it on a mobile browser would see that HavocDynamics has this plugin enabled. So you can take it on the Go!
STATPRESS RELOADED
This plugin (previously known as StatPress) shows you real time statistics about your blog. It collects information about visitors, spiders, search keywords, feeds, browsers, OS etc.
Once the plugin StatPress has been activated it immediately starts to collect information. Using StatPress you can see your visitors actions while they are surfing your blog or check which are the preferred pages, posts and categories. In the Dashboard menu you will find the StatPress page where you could look up the statistics (overview or detailed). StatPress also includes a widget you can add to a sidebar (or easy PHP code if you can’t use widgets!).
My Say – StatPress Reloaded is the continued work of StatPress. I only updated a while now, and I am loving the stats that are given. Precise and live too. It is also cool as it doesn’t count your visits (as long as you’re logged in). You have to get This.
GOOGLE XML SITEMAP BUILDER
This plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of your WordPress blog. It supports all of the WordPress generated pages as well as custom ones. Everytime you edit or create a post, your sitemap is updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.
My Say – This is perfect for any site. Good stuff. It alerts the search engines to all of your posts and the search engines quickly index your posts and site, which means that you get good traffic out of this one!
Sociable
Automatically add links to your favorite social bookmarking sites on your posts, pages and in your RSS feed. You can choose from 99 different social bookmarking sites!
My Say – This is a must if you want to build some serious traffic, everyone bookmarks a good article when they see one, you’re just enabling them! Hell If you like this article why don’t you try out this plugin which is enabled on this site? Go and share and bookmark this article for a little preview!
AdSense Manager
AdSense Manager is a Wordpress plugin for managing AdSense ads on your blog. It generates code automatically and allows positioning with Widgets.
Version 3.1.x now supports AdSense, AdBrite, AdGridWork, Adpinion, Adroll, Commission Junction, CrispAds, ShoppingAds, Yahoo!PN and WidgetBucks.
Automatic Ad Code Importer for all supported networks. Widgets & Sidebar Modules compatible (as used in the popular K2 theme). Automatic limiting of Ads to meet network T&Cs (Google 3 units/page)
My Say – Mange your ads, now much, much, much easier! It is awesome and cool. I also use this to mange all of my ads on this site!
